Weekly Raw-Milk Test Results

Windsor Dairy voluntarily (and at great expense and effort!) tests our milk every week at a USDA certified Food Safety Lab in Greeley, CO.  We test for the 4 major food-borne pathogens (e-coli 0157H7, salmonella, campylobacter & listeria).

While we are not required to perform this service, we care about the quality of our raw milk and the health and safety of our share-holders.

We are the only dairy in the United States, raw or otherwise, that tests every single batch of milk for the four major food-borne pathogens, utilizing the most sensitive tests.

 We use the most sensitive test available (PCR, with pre-incubation for campylobacter). 

If a sample has a positive result, the lab conducts additional rigorous confirmatory testing on the original samples (to determine if there are viable bacteria in the milk or just stray remnants).  We also send over additional samples of milk from the same batch to re-test.

 

PLEASE NOTE:  IN THIS CASE, NO NEWS IS ALWAYS GOOD NEWS!  We promise that we will ALWAYS notify you in the case of a questionable test result.  If an e-mail is not sent or these results are not up-dated, rest assured the milk is CLEAN!
